Software Resources

Software Title:Kids Geo
Grade/Age Level: 2 grade and up
Subject Area: Geography/Geology
Platform: Mac/PC
Purpose: This is a great site for young students to learn more about the world around us. This site is very kid friendly. I believe students will be able to relate to the stories and commentary about the world we live in. The sing-a-longs for each subject makes this site truly unique.

Software Title: Sheppard Software
Grade/Age Level: First grade and up (even Adults)!

Platform: Mac/PC
Purpose: I really enjoyed this site because it offered many different games and learning techniques for many subjects. Students will love learning about current events and our ever changing world. This site is also great for vocabulary building which is essential at all ages.

Software Title: Kids Know It Network
Grade/Age Level: K-12
Subject Area: Geography, Math, History, Biology, and Spelling
Platform: Mac/PC
Purpose: The Kids Know It Network is a great site for students who need out of the box learning practices. It specializes in songs, games and interactive learning activities. This site is easy to read and is student/parent friendly as well.

All three of these sites were new to me, so I had a nice time exploring. I was impressed with the quality and variety of games at the Sheppard Software site. The site itself can be a bit overwhelming in terms of being able to wade through all of the options--something you might have mentioned in your review--but it seems to be worth it.

I was not too impressed with the Geology side of the Kids Geo site. While the geography offerings were useful, the geology games didn't seem to offer much variety of help to the user.

Thanks for the nice reviews.

Man! I checked out your sites and they were too cool. I really like the "Kids Know It" site. I was looking at different kinds of animals and checking out the facts about them. I know a few boys who would love to look at this site. GOOD JOB!!
